The computer department of the Institute is one of the most sophisticated and modern department in this part with the country and is equipped with a number of hardwares, softwares and networking.
Network: CIP has a very exhaustive Fiber Optic Network which connects the entire institution and enables internet activities and information to be available for all departments.

• Internet:  Two type (128kbps leased line and 128kbps Broad band) internet connections are available at CIP.
• Altos server management: the server installed in the institution for Web server and Database Server requires complete management like creation of users, providing rights to them, periodic backups of data being accumulated on daily basis and providing inter connection at approved locations.
• Procom server management: Procom server facilitates in carrying out multiple CD search simultaneously.
• SUN Microsystems (Server): It is accompanied 32 clusters. The server installed in the institution for Database Server requires complete management like creation of users, providing rights to them; periodic backups of data being accumulated on daily basis and providing inter connection at approved locations. It is also use for huge mathematical calculation within a few minutes. It is also known as Super Computer.
• Research activities: Preparation of protocol of research, data sheets, analysis of data and manuscript for publication and transparencies, slide and power point presentations.
• Statistical activities :Department is maintaining Statistical data, Annual reports, Monthly statistical Meeting Presentation & all types query for statistical data by institute & Ministry.
• Works related to seminars, conferences and journal club: organization of seminars, case conference and journal club greatly involved computer related works such as preparation hand-outs, presentation, lectures etc.
• Help to Office staff: To help office staff in preparing official documents, budgets, comparative statement, medical quotations, monthly payment verify and generate bank scroll etc.
• Software management: Proper installation and working of all existing softwares.
• Entrance Examination work: to carry pre-examination processing like acceptance of application forms, screening and admit card preparation and post examination works like preparation of merit list after scrutinizing the answer sheets etc.
• Customized software management: CIP has recently acquired customized software for official work.  The database resides on the Central server and to be maintained completely for smooth running of software.
